Curtailed Passage:
A planet is in curtailed passage when it has acronically set and is approaching opposition to the Sun. During curtailed passage a planet will not reach the horizon (rise or set) before becoming invisible in the glare of twilight. When a planet has acronically risen, it has ended curtailed passage. This is easiest to see in the Graphic Ephemeris with the heliacal phenomena option turned on.
